Visceral Therapy for improved organ health and mobility
Restore balance and relieve tension with gentle Visceral Therapy
Liz has completed the Barral Visceral Manipulation course curriculum (22 days face to face training) and continues to practice and study with them. The word visceral refers to the anatomical term used for our organs and since her work has a strong focus around the abdomen and pelvis it made sense to learn more than she was originally taught in her physiotherapy training. Its an osteopathic technique strongly rooted in anatomy using a gentle hands on approach to evaluate the subtle movements, tensions on restrictions in the body. As yet it doesn’t have a strong evidence base and definitely sits within the complementary side of Liz’s offerings, but having experienced good effects from the treatment herself she had to learn more. Liz felt it was another layer of expertise on her existing scar work that isn’t offered by many practitioners.
Suitable for those experiencing digestive discomfort, musculoskeletal pain, or tension from past surgeries, Visceral therapy promotes greater body awareness and alignment for enhanced wellness.

What is Visceral Therapy?
Visceral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on treatment that focuses on improving the mobility and function of internal organs by releasing tension in the surrounding connective tissues. Through light manipulation, the therapy addresses restrictions that can arise from surgery, injury, or inflammation, which may impact organs like the stomach, liver, and intestines. By restoring natural movement within these areas, Visceral Therapy helps alleviate discomfort, enhance organ function, and promote overall physical balance, supporting better alignment and reducing tension throughout the body.
