Postnatal checkup & rehabilitation programme

The Mummy MOT is a specialist physiotherapy postnatal check recommended for all women after childbirth, whether it’s 6 weeks or years later. It’s designed to assess the impact of pregnancy and birth on your body and support your recover. It’s tailored to your concerns so each Mummy MOT looks a little different. Pelvic health physios have additional training to offer internal examinations of your pelvic floor (although not before 6 weeks to allow for healing). The aim is to help you back to whats meaningful for you whether it’s playing pain free with your little one or Crossfit. We aim to prevent long-term issues like back pain, bladder weakness, and pelvic dysfunction, which many women many women accept as normal. Baby’s are welcome but might limit concentration!

What will your postnatal check up include?

  • 55 minute post-natal assessment with Liz

  • Internal pelvic floor and core muscle assessment, tummy gap & scar check (as appropriate & if wanted)

  • Return to exercise assessment

  • Assessment of physical problems arising from pregnancy and birth

  • A bespoke post-natal recovery programme devised especially for you, your lifestyle and fitness goals

  • Specific and safe post-natal exercises to improve stability, posture and core strength

Cost:

£95 for initial consultation (55 mins)

Monday, Wednesday & Fridays. Please note Mondays are upstairs limiting buggy access.

£65 follow up sessions (45mins)

It’s ideal for any woman after pregnancy and delivery who wants encouragement and support on their healing journey. Liz sees women who want to return to exercise safely or are concerned around abdominal muscle separation. She also routinely sees those with symptoms of leaking, prolapse, pelvic pain and bladder and bowel issues. Liz has over 10 years experience treating pelvic health issues and can advise on next steps even if its not physiotherapy.
